Kajian interdisipliner terhadap ketahanan psikososial, struktur keluarga, dan kemiskinan dalam novel The Glass Castle karya Jeannette Walls

Abstract


This research investigates The Glass Castle authored by Jeannette Walls through a variety of interdisciplinary frameworks, encompassing resilience theory, family systems theory, psychoanalytic theory, and behaviorist psychology. The memoir narrates Walls' formative years in a destitute and tumultuous household governed by eccentric and frequently neglectful parental figures. Employing qualitative thematic analysis, we discern numerous resilience factors, adaptive mechanisms, and relational dynamics that influenced the author's maturation. Our results illuminate not only the individual resilience exhibited by Walls and her siblings but also the intricate interplay of hope, denial, familial affection, and trauma within contexts of persistent deprivation. This case study enhances the overarching comprehension of human adaptability in the face of socioeconomic adversity and underscores the intricate pathways through which individuals extricate themselves from cycles of poverty.
